WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is awarded the design and works of the Scarborough Subway Extension project. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project based in Scarborough, Aecon is looking for a qualified Senior Cost Controller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Project Controls plans, and detailed manpower utilization plans for discipline or specialty activities.
- Assist with contract management and payments.
- Develop, or assist in the development of, quantity bases for the assumption.
- Perform, or coordinate the performance of, pricing structure development and application to takeoffs, derived quantities, quantity assumption, and cost allowances within a discipline or other specialty.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the preparation of specific budgets.
- Assist in developing requirements for budgeting standards.
- Develop and implement requirements for forecasting, cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, and reports.
- Perform performance monitoring and control functions.
- Assist in development specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions.
- Investigate requirements for estimating and/or cost control data for a specific discipline or other specialty applications.
- Identifie or define data sources and techniques for data acquisition and collects required data for a specific discipline or other specialty applications.
- Responsible for setting-up of project accounting systems (cost codes, job cost processing procedures, project rules of credit).
- Ensure all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout.
- Monitor project performance and ensure that the project control system is properly implemented.
- Generate all required project status reports for internal management and for the customer, including the overall project Dashboard, project performance report (Earned Value, SPI, CPI, etc.).
- Perform data analysis, identify problems, and make recommendations.
- Create and implement measurement systems for given processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies improvements.
