The Fastly Law team is looking for an attorney who is a deal lawyer, negotiator and lifelong learner to join our dynamic team in supporting all commercial operations of Fastly. We are looking for a lawyer who sees themself as a trusted advisor who solves problems practically. We are seeking candidates who value working on a strong and diverse team, and want to contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have strong foundational law firm training from a respected law firm, solid experience working with in-house enterprise sales teams, experience with privacy and data security issues relevant to SaaS and an interest in taking on additional responsibilities. This position is open to candidates based in San Francisco or New York and will report to our Managing Legal Director, Commercial.

WE’LL BE SUPER IMPRESSED IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THESE:

  • Experience supporting channel sales for enterprise SaaS, especially negotiating referral, reseller and MSP agreements
  • Experience negotiating commercial transactions with companies in regulated industries (e.g. government contracting, financial services, healthcare)
  • Curiosity about how the internet really works and enthusiasm for technology

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently draft, review, and negotiate complex master subscription agreements and data processing agreements with enterprise customers and work closely with our Sales organization to close revenue deals
  • Work with our Compliance, Security, Product and other stakeholders across the company to ensure alignment between our contracts, products and our operations
  • Draft, review, and negotiate other agreements, such as various vendor agreements, infrastructure agreements, and channel partner agreements
  • Develop and optimize playbooks, checklists, guidebook positions and other tools to share knowledge and scale the Law team
  • Provide negotiation and other forms of mentorship for other Commercial Law team members in the United States and London
