Our Hamilton based service is seeking a qualified and experienced counsellor to engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.

You are an experienced and proven Counsellor who has a professional, warm and engaging nature. In addition you are / have:

  • Membership with the NZAC (New Zealand)
  • Familiar with strength-based practice principles; and competent in counselling theories
  • Competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
  • Able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
  • Experienced in working individually with children, with families, and in group settings
  • Enjoy group facilitation
  • Thrive in a busy multi-disciplinary team
  • Show exemplary professional practice
  • Have outstanding communication and people skillsKnowledge of tikanga Maori an advantage
