and Kenya. Unifi delivers personal lending products through online, mobile phone and branch
channels. The company is well supported by strong shareholders and a board of directors with vast
experience in entrepreneurship and lending.
Unifi is recruiting a new Senior Credit Risk Analyst to drive the development of credit policy, product
pricing and product features. Included in the role is the development and monitoring of customer
scorecards for both acquisition and existing customer credit policy decisions, as well as analytics
aimed at optimising company profitability from its lending decisions.
The ideal candidate must be analytically adept, self-driven, able to flourish in an unstructured
management environment and have a passion for African business. A healthy spirit of adventure and
sense of humour would be helpful.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Analyse data sets to identify factors correlated with credit risk outcomes..
  • Develop credit risk models that forecast the likelihood of consumer default.
  • Assist operations to achieve better credit risk outcomes by integrating models and data
  • driven approaches into operational processes.
  • Determine risk-based product pricing to achieve profitability hurdles.
  • Work with the finance team and other stakeholders to build insights in customerprofitability segments.
  • Ensure that provisioning models are updated to sufficiently cover changing credit risk.
  • Analyze complex data sets using SQL and other tools to extract insights and identify trends.
  • Developing junior credit risk and data analysts.
