Position Description
The Senior Data & Analytics Solution Architect will work with the Enterprise Architecture, will be part of new development projects as part of the delivery team to ensure that new technology solutions, as the highest-level technology domain expert. are designed for optimal access and usefulness, and leverage existing technologies for their specific technical domains and understand system-wide impacts. They will assist in near/mid-term roadmap creation, to address gaps and move company towards the future state architecture to support future business growth and innovation driving business value. Senior Solution Architect will guide a solution through to its completion; and ultimately can be implemented and supported in production. A successful Senior Data and Analytics Solution Architect not only understands technology but also appreciates the business context and user needs. They bridge the gap between data and actionable insights, driving organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design: Analyze business needs and identify suitable technology solutions. Design comprehensive plans for implementing BI and analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long-term goals.
  • Data Modeling and Architecture: Develop data models, data warehouses, and data lakes. Define data structures, hierarchies, and relationships and optimize data storage, retrieval, processing and management.
  • Tool Selection and Implementation: Evaluate and select appropriate BI tools, platforms, and technologies. Implement data visualization tools, reporting frameworks, and analytics platforms, including ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including business users, data engineers, BI developers and IT teams. Translate business requirements into technical specifications. Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Data Governance and Quality: Establish data governance policies, standards, and best practices, ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Implement data quality checks and validation processes.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries. Fine-tune ETL processes, database indexing, and caching mechanisms. Address performance-related issues promptly.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data security measures, access controls, and encryption. Comply with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR) and internal IT controls and audit requirements. Safeguard sensitive information.
  • Training and Documentation: Train end-users on BI tools and self-service analytics. Create documentation for data models, ETL processes, and reporting. Foster a data-driven culture within the organization. Mentor and guide business users and junior developers in various aspects of data, business intelligence and analytics
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Explore and implement AI, IoT, machine learning, and predictive analytics for enhancing BI solutions. Assist in implementing Manufacturing digital standards for data, analytics and AI. Negotiate solutions, design and buy-in from the executives and business community.
  • Strategy Development: Establish domain specific standards, near/mid-term strategy, and roadmaps (0-18 months), in adherence to, and in support of Enterprise standards, strategy and roadmaps. Assist in creating the vision for future state technologies and architecture and participate in setting Enterprise standards and mid/long-term strategy/roadmaps (18-60 months), acting as domain specific subject matter experts.
  • Standards & Best Practices: Create EA standards, methodologies and technology specifications, architecture patterns and define operational processes to deliver operational excellence and optimal solution designs. Assist MSPs in developing KPIs and service level agreements and Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management and Performance Management processes

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related major or equivalent IS/business experience
  • 10+ years’ experience years of IS/business experience, including architecture, design, programming, and/or systems analysis. Has a broad level of understanding surrounding system architecture including SAP/SAP BW
  • Proven experience as a BI solution architect or similar role
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and database design and UI design
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView), SQL, and data visualization
  • Strong experience in analytical modeling tools, ML tools, NLP/LLP tools
  • Experience in implementing modern lake house and data lake architectures and technologies
  • Hands on experience with designing and delivering various analytical solutions driving business growth
  • Experience working with structured and various unstructured data, vector datasets
  • Preferred experience closely working with the Manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership and stakeholder management skills
