The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Database Administrator (m/f/*) for HIS, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Responsible for installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of multiple database systems, as well as troubleshooting, performance tuning, data life cycle, data replication, security and compliance across multiple database platforms and technologies.
• Delivery of projects such as new database implementations, migrations, upgrades, and architectural design changes.
• Working directly with Product Development teams to validate, test and deploy new code releases, particular for the Fluency platforms.
• Provision patch, upgrade, and maintain all deployed database systems.
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery of all Oracle, Postgres, SQL and MongoDB systems.
• Implement and maintain High-Availability technologies based on Oracle Data Guard and Golden Gate, SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Postgres Master/Slave, Mongo Replica Sets (clusters).
• Physical and logical design and development of databases, schemas, objects, procedures, packages, jobs, shell scripts, etc. to support both Product Development and general database sustainment activities.
• Implement alerts and monitors to aid early warning of potential performance or capacity issues.
• Facilitate the implementation of new database code to all environments from QA to Production through a monthly release cycle to databases in multiple regions whilst working with DevOps towards deployment automation.
• Be proficient in writing and debugging Linux shell scripts, programs, PL/SQL and PGSQL code.
• Ad-hoc tasks and reporting from the FFT platform for internal customers such as Operations and Implementations.
• Ability to work outside office hours for planned interventions.
• Day to day operational support across multiple platforms and multiple database technologies to ensure stability, availability, and performance. This includes knowledge to support said systems, both RDS and self-managed, in Amazon Cloud.
• Provide database administrative support for 3M Clinician solutions platforms hosted primarily in Amazon Cloud such as Fluency for Transcription, Fluency Direct, Fluency Voice, Fluency Analytics, Connexion, CDI, CAPD & Collaborate.
• Provide on-call DBA cover, working with global teams to troubleshoot and rectify major system faults and outages.

Your Skills and Expertise

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and six (6) years of experience in a technical industry.
• Experience using one or more of the following technologies Postgres AND/OR Oracle AND/OR SQL Server AND/OR MongoDB
