Job Description:
As a Data Developer, your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain the data infrastructure and systems that support GEM’s data management and analytics initiatives. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, scalability, and reliability of the data infrastructure, as well as optimizing its performance. This position requires strong technical expertise in data engineering, database management, and cloud technologies.
WHAT SKILLS AND TRAINING DO YOU NEED?
- 4-6 years of professional experience in a related field.
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in computer engineering, mathematics, data science, or related disciplines.
- Experience using the following software/tools:
- Relational SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB).
- Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and familiarity with cloud-based data services and storage technologies.
- Data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Azkaban, Luigi, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, etc.
- Leveraging REST APIs.
- Data Warehousing Solutions (e.g., Snowflake) including data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Data modeling and transformation tools (e.g., DBT).
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team to tackle structured and unstructured data processing problems.
- Relevant certifications in Azure Data Services or Snowflake are a plus.
