Essential Skills

• SQL Server expertise, including the ability to design implement and manage databases, including knowledge of database architecture, indexing and stored procedures
• SSIS proficiency, including the ability to develop, deploy and manage SSIS packages.
• Scripting and automation experience using a scripting language such as PowerShell, Python or Bash
• Performance Optimization in SQL server; including experience in optimizing data access and storage

Desirable Skills

• Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Experience in Cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Knowledge in Data Governance and Compliance practices and issues which may impact data management strategies.
• Experience working an agile or Extreme Programming methodologies

Looking for a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in On-Premise Data Knowledge to join a new team to support an on premises data storehouse and support the delivery of a cloud based Data Lakehouse.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain an on-premises SQL Server Data Storehouse
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and security of data.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes.
• Create and maintain efficient data storage, retrieval and reporting structures.
• Monitor and maintain system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
• Use and promote common development tools and practices within the team.
• Analysis of information systems processes, monitoring of key performance metrics and creation of standard performance dashboards/reports
• Participate in code reviews to ensure consistent adherence to standards and make recommendations where necessary.
• Work effectively as part of a distributed team within agile scrum delivery frameworks
