    As a Senior Data Engineer reporting to the Data Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the SQL Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) upkeep and evolution. You’ll collaborate within a Data Management & Support (DMS) team to refine their Data Strategy, enhance data assets, infrastructure, and tools alongside a small, close-knit team. Your role involves working closely with Business Departments to grasp their reporting needs and adapt the warehouse environment accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or relevant professional experience.
  • Background in Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Warehouse Design, and Business Intelligence, particularly within Financial Services/Insurance.
  • Proficiency in end-to-end Change and Release Management processes for Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Project management experience in large-scale transformational projects, preferably data-related.
  • Technical expertise in Data Warehousing, Data Integration, Database Design, ETL, and SQL Reporting.
  • Familiarity with MS SQL SSMS, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, SSAS, SSIS, DAX, PowerBI, Power Platform, and Power Pivot.
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to drive collaborative change without defensiveness and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Desirable: Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based SQL Warehouse implementation, including migrations. Database Administration (DBA) skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • EDW Change Management: Handle end-to-end changes including requirement clarification, analysis, estimation, updating procedures, validating changes, and liaising with stakeholders for deployment. Maintain documentation.
  • Assist in fortnightly deployment planning.
  • Provide consultancy to project managers, analysts, and developers on data architecture.
  • Propose high-level data architecture enhancements to accommodate source system changes.
  • Contribute to designing, building, and supporting EDW components.
  • Aid in designing dimensional models and automating ETL processes.
  • Ensure data integrity in EDW and contribute to Governance & Management framework.
  • Implement Audit controls. Support ongoing development of the data strategy and assist in delivering quality MI.
