Shipt, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Data Scientist I. The Senior Data Scientist I provides solutions and contributions that are leveraged within an organization in Shipt and will contribute to the team’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This position requires a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Industrial/Operations Research, Data Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field, plus at least 2 years of experience in the proffered position or similar position developing quantitative models or algorithms and building simulation models using Flexism, AnyLogic, or any other simulation software (e.g., Research Scientist, Research Associate, Statistical Consultant, Mathematical Statistician). Work experience must also include at least 1 year with the following: (1) a statistical scripting language (e.g., Python); (2) scientific computing packages (e.g., Numpy/Scipy, Pandas); (3) data querying language (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Postgres, Redshift); (4) experimentation and general statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, causal inference, study design, and knowledge of how to leverage these skills to solve complex business problems; and (5) data visualization (e.g., Tableau). This position is fully remote and may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Company HQ in Birmingham, AL. Limited travel to company’s offices for work reasons may be needed. Various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. may be possible in the future.
