    ML & Forecasting
    Data Scientist required with expertise in machine learning (ML) and forecasting for our industry leading client in Sydney. Initial 3 month contract with extensions or view to full time employment. As a Data Scientist specialising ML & Forecasting, you will play a key role in leveraging data to develop predictive models, drive insights, and enhance decision-making processes..
    Key Responsibilities:
    Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and models to solve complex business problems.
    Build predictive models and time series forecasting solutions to support decision-making and planning processes.
    Continuously monitor and fine-tune models for optimal performance.
    Utilize MS SQL Server, Python, and R for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
    Optimize data storage and retrieval for efficient analysis.
    Implement and adhere to data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
    Document data-related processes, workflows, and data lineage.
    Map data flows and dependencies to facilitate transparency and understanding.
    Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for models and analyses.
    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and objectives.
    Stay current with ML and forecasting techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
    Identify opportunities to enhance data processes, models, and systems.
    To succeed you will have
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
    Proven experience in ML, forecasting, and data engineering, with a minimum of 4+ years in a similar role.
    Proficiency in MS SQL Server for database management and data manipulation.
    Strong programming skills in Python and R for data analysis, model development, and automation.
    Experience with Gitlab CI/CD or similar continuous integration/continuous deployment tools.
    Expertise in data modelling, governance, and documentation.
    Ability to map and document complex data processes and workflows.
    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
