Shipt, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Data Scientist (Data Science). The Senior Data Scientist deals with the analysis of transactional finance data and analyzing/creating metrics to elucidate financial/economic data. Requires a Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or a related STEM Field (foreign equivalent accepted) plus a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in a similar role (e.g., Data Scientist, Data Analyst). This position is fully remote and may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Company HQ is located in Birmingham, AL. Limited travel to company’s offices for work reasons may be needed. Various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. may be possible in the future. Must have: (1) experience in applied methods in optimization, statistics, econometrics, or machine learning; (2) experience in causal inference (experimentation, econometrics, or general statistical modeling), hypothesis testing, study design, and knowledge of how to leverage these skills to solve complex business problems; (3) experience in econometrics and multivariate statistics; (4) experience in using statistical causal inference techniques for effect measurement; (5) experience in High-Level Languages such as Python and/or R (preferred.); and (6) experience in data visualization and storytelling in general, e.g., using tools like Tableau and power BI.
