What to expect

• Data systems expert: You are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our data systems & debugging and troubleshooting data systems issues
• Documentation and Monitoring: You create and maintain documentation for our data systems and monitor data systems to ensure high availability and scalability
• Performance of Data Systems: You continuously evaluate and improve data systems performance
• Consulting: You lead, review and consult software engineers using data systems
• Specialist: You are responsible for engineering of tools and scripts to automatize, run and support the data systems

How we work

• What we use: We use Serverless Python functions for our Microservices and GPU enhanced microcontrollers to run our deep learning models on the edge and store the data in the AWS cloud
• We are agile: You will take a great part in shaping our engineering standards - you will be highly involved in how the software architecture will be designed and how future features can be released
• We have a “you built it, you run it” attitude: CI/CD is our second nature - we use AWS, Docker, GitLab and whatever you need additionally to get your things done
• We are fast and committed to winning: So be prepared to bring your agile mindset to the table because “the only easy day was yesterday”

Inspire us by

• Background: You have a lot of experience administrating different databases especially PostgreSQL in fast startup environments
• Programming skills: You have strong programming skills with Python optional with Java or Scala
• Expertise: Your are proficient with most of the advanced database management system topics, e.g. disaster recovery, scalability, distributed DBMS, high availability, encryption, anonymization, performance tuning
• Hands-on: You are comfortable using Linux (working in the command line and using GNU tools)
• Cloud-Guru: You are experienced with cloud services (preferably AWS)
• Collaboration & Proactiveness : You communicate and work efficiently with your colleagues, proactively look for solutions to problems and take ownership for your tasks independently
• Language Skills: Strong written and spoken English (level C1 on the CEFR scale)
