Description:

SHAPE A BETTER WORLD WITH US

Data centers are increasingly becoming a core component of our vital infrastructure. Their operators must therefore ensure the longevity of their sites, optimize them for mission-critical tasks and equip them with the latest hardware. At the same time, it is important to ensure cost efficiency and sustainability. From solutions to make better use of existing infrastructure to designing new ‘energy efficient’ structures, we have successfully helped our clients achieve these goals.
For Arup, it is no longer enough to strive for the sustainable construction of data centers. We want them to be regenerative. Our vision is to transition to a zero-carbon economy, ensuring that data centers make a positive contribution to the world.
As Senior Design Manager Data Center you will be responsible for the technical coordination of our engineering projects from initial briefing, design and detailed design through to installation and commissioning of data centers. This role provides an opportunity for you to apply and further develop your skills in technical leadership and interdisciplinary coordination, particularly in delivering HVAC (TGA) planning packages for smaller and medium-sized projects.
Your location can be either Frankfurt am Main or Berlin, and flexible, self-organized remote work is partially possible.

WE SEEK THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS, ATTRIBUTES, AND SKILLS:

Nobody is perfect and all career paths are different. We look forward to receiving your application, even if you do not meet all of our requirements:

  • A degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical engineering), technical building services, supply engineering, building technology, or electrical engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in HVAC planning (MEP design) and several years of experience as a Lead Engineer in MEP Design for data centers and building technology.
  • Relevant project references in national and/or international industrial projects as a Design Manager.
  • Background knowledge in building planning and a solid understanding of the planning stages according to RIBA and/or HOAI.
  • Desirable knowledge of the DIN EN 50600 standard series, Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), and “Tier classification” or similar specific norms and guidelines related to data centers.
  • Experience and knowledge of BIM planning methods.
  • Proficient English language skills in both spoken and written communication, German language skills at B2 level
