Description:
About the role
The construction of the HS2 station’s civils infrastructure is underway here at Old Oak
Common site, baseline design is accepted by the client and the appointment of the suppliers
to build the integrated station is ongoing.
This post is a key role in the Design Management team, covering GWML station and shared
accommodation building envelope, fit out, platforms, OLE structures, canopies and
platform overbridge packages. Scope is split between a team of 4 design / assistant design
managers.
The purpose of the role is to manage on behalf of the BBVS JV a timely delivery of quality
assured detailed designs by the Consultant and directing subcontractors to achieve the
same though following phases of development.
What you’ll be doing
) Develop with Consultants technical design packages to the project program and key dates
2) Manage delivery and coordination of all technical aspects of assigned BBVS JV GWML Station
and SAB Work Packages and the discipline interfaces
3) Manage the coordination between design and construction teams
4) Support the Engineering, BIM and Technical Assurance teams to achieve Code 1 Acceptance of
all Design Deliverables
5) Contribute to strategy and direction of Design and Design Management team
6) Lead the GWML station and SAB work packages design management activities
7) Assisting in managing the NEC contract by input on relevant matters
8) Reviewing schedule and agreeing impact of change on construction and other design packages
9) Review and checking against contract requirements to ensure compliance, quality /
completeness, design intent, constructability, interfaces with other work packages
10) Promote value engineering and innovation
11) Manage obtaining of approvals of HS2’s Technical Authority and Network Rail’s and third
parties’, where necessary

Communication in English (Verbal & Written)
NEC3 contract experience
Rail station design / delivery experience
