about this team
The Advanced Concepts team shapes, surprises and engineers delight into the future guest experience through advanced innovation principles. We go beyond classic research and development methodologies into the realm of possibility for both body and mind within all of the places that our guests & lululemon choose to play together. We need you to bring to life the capabilities of our state of the art Workshop facility through utilization of our unique research, design and technology insights. You will work as part of a lean innovation concept team and partner with the Innovation design and concept creation team to explore product functionality from user needs to first concept through to embodiment prototype.

a day in the life

  • Immerse yourself in the world of the guest and build empathy for their unique needs and creating new experiences through innovative solves.
  • Partner with the research team to understand our unique research points of view.
  • Translate findings into compelling storyboards, designs, and POC’s.
  • Build and test prototypes that you and your team have created.
  • Research new technologies, materials, methods of make for the Advanced Concepts team to inform and shape new guest solves and new experiences.
  • Design unique, commercially viable and innovative solutions to guest needs, with the potential of obtaining IP.
  • Work collaboratively across product categories and activities to bring innovative product concepts toward commercialization.

qualifications

  • You’re a 21st century maker with an education in Industrial Design, Sport Product Design, Product Design, Contour Fashion Design, .
  • You’re a proven strategic thinker able to design and build commercially viable propositions with multiple assets.
  • You have the capabilities to design and build a concept or cohesive collection of functional solutions to an understood problem.
  • You have an informed point of view and are an expert on technology, material, construction, and most importantly mechanism of achieving the intended innovation.
  • You know the best medium to share your ideas and are equally happy in CAD, 3D, Adobe illustrator, and hand sketching.
  • You’re a proven strategic thinker able to build commercially viable propositions with multiple assets.

compensation and benefits package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200-156,500 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

This role is classified as hybrid under our SSC Workplace Policy: In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
