Description:
At Swindon Borough Council, we want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. Because that’s who we’re doing it for – the communities and businesses that make our town great. As part of the Council, you’ll support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It’s all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and talented graphic designer to join a busy and high performing Communications Team at Swindon Borough Council, shortlisted for three communication awards in the 2023 CIPR Pride Awards.
Responsibilities:
We are looking to recruit as maternity leave cover, an experienced and motivated graphic designer to provide creative leadership and design support to campaigns, communications activity and the design needs of individual service areas.
The successful candidate will work with colleagues to translate design briefs into compelling campaign materials, publications, digital communications, and displays that capture attention and help to achieve set objectives. The role will also contribute creative ideas for projects and campaigns across the team on a variety of topic areas.
This role will be the primary point of contact within the organisation to advise on, manage and fulfil design and print requests. Candidates will need to be self-driven, confident and able to work using own initiative to prioritise work effectively and manage their time well to meet agreed deadlines for multiple pieces of work at one time.
The role will manage the Council’s visual identity, ensuring that the visual identity guidelines are applied consistently across the organisation and flex across different digital and print outputs.
You’ll be joining an ambitious, friendly team with a strong ethos of continuous improvement and professional development.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
