Software and Algorithm Development:

  • Define metrics for health state of LPBF machines, also real-time surveillance, based on ML, statistics, and analytical models
  • Define metrics for LPBF build process quality control in real-time and post-build, including and compared with external measurements (for example CMM, X-ray, CT)
  • Define and develop algorithms for improved machine and process quality, based on machine vision, multivariate statistics, and AI
  • Develop, compare, and implement methods for process parameter optimization
  • Develop ML and non-ML based strategies for decision making and quality control

Data Analysis:

  • Collect and analyze data from machine process sensors
  • Analyze historical data exploratively for patterns which predict future malfunctions and quality implications
  • Develop, compare, and implement methods and algorithms for error detection in LPBF machines and processes based on said metrices and patterns in prototype solutions
  • Define methods to compare usability of sensors and inhomogeneous sensor networks
  • Create and execute comparability studies between LPBF machines
