Description:

OBJECTIVE:

You have a holistic approach to DevOps, it’s not the setup for the sake of the setup, it’s also how well it fits with the product, the user needs and how cost-effective it is for the company to have such a setup.
You take pride in managing the infrastructure bill as part of your responsibility and communicate to finance and C-levels stakeholders what are the drivers behind the infrastructure cost, and notify them when those drivers change and are optimized.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Able to communicate clearly both async and face to face.
  • At least 5 years proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer, with strong knowledge of DevOps principles and experience in migration projects.
  • At least 2 years’ software development experience, understand how the code is interacting with the infrastructure.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux systems and automation. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Proficiency in managing infrastructure with Puppet, Git for source control management, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines tools
  • Capability to develop and operate orchestration tools within containerised environments, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS or OpenShift
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments & tools such as bicep, ARM templates, terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Openshift Cloud Platform.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven Azure skills with at least 2 years of experience such as Native VMs, Container Services, Pipeline creation, Azure PaaS services, Azure Networking, Azure DNS, Azure routing, Best practice security, Private endpoints, Virtual appliances, Network security groups, authentication technologies (LDAP, Azure AD and Auth0 etc.) and etc.
  • Certification in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of database migration strategies and technologies.
  • Experience with legacy system modernization and re-platforming.
  • Familiarity with compliance and security standards in regulated industries i.e. Singapore MAS guidelines for banking & financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of the company’s infrastructure, applications, and application deployment practices.
  • Evaluate current infrastructure setup and look into whether there is a need to implement a different one to account for different business division’s growth trajectory. Continuously evaluate and improve, designing the most suitable infrastructure for each different case, rather than adapting the case to one infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and define migration objectives and infrastructure modernization success criteria.
  • Understand cost drivers and work on making the infrastructure cost-effective. Managing the infrastructure bill as part of your responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the development teams to address bottlenecks in the code, reliably deploy fixes, understand their requirements and provide support for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Develop migration strategies and roadmaps to transition the company’s systems and processes.
  • Lead the execution of migration plans, including data migration, application refactoring, and infrastructure modernization.
  • Set up monitoring tools and dashboards to track system health, performance, and availability and configure alerts.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline processes during the migration process.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to teams involved in the migration process.
  • Document migration processes, best practices, and lessons learned for future reference.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve migration practices.
