We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in automating, securing, and streamlining delivery of our software infrastructure for both on-prem and cloud-based solutions. You will actively participate in our migration to modern software architecture.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Azure DevOps
  • DevOps Engineer certification from Microsoft

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Cloud Platforms: Azure
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment in Azure DevOps
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of tools like Bicep and ARM for automating infrastructure provisioning
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with App Services, Docker, or similar technologies
  • Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like PS, NodeJS, Python, etc.
  • System Administration: Strong background in Windows/Linux/Unix administration
  • Networking Knowledge: Understanding of network protocols, IP networks, and DNS
  • Security Practices: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including secure coding, encryption, and vulnerability management
  • Monitoring and Logging Tools: Familiarity with tools like App Insights
  • Version Control Systems: Proficiency with Git
  • Database Administration: Understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and their management
  • Web App/API Hosting: IIS, self-hosted, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, improve, and collaborate on CI/CD infrastructure and tools to deliver a scalable, secure, and robust infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, training, and production environments
  • Monitor and enhance system performance and reliability, including capacity planning, monitoring, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security best practices
  • Provide awareness and insight of the different operational constraints or opportunities for projects targeting cloud-based or on-premises deployments
  • Assist in migrating from manually configured and deployed systems to a full continuous delivery approach using automation and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices
  • Document the configuration, architecture, infrastructure, and security-related processes
  • Execute common sysadmin (system administration) tasks such as applying patches and report generation and some DB administration
  • Participate in a pre/post-hours on-call rotation to maintain a 24x7 environment
  • Mentor and coach team members in cloud and DevOps tools and practices
