Description:

Role Overview:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will take a hands-on approach to lead the planning and execution of software releases across various testing and production environments. Reporting to the Manager Application Development, you will collaborate closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Application Team Leads to ensure seamless software deployment while adhering to best practices and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of software releases into diverse testing and production environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage configurations, adjust release automation, and ensure the successful deployment of software.
  • Define source code management policies, including branching strategies, to optimize the release process.
  • Measure and monitor release progress, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate releases into production and non-production environments, maintaining a traceable, repeatable, and efficient process.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of coordinating releases within a large organization.
  • Hands-on experience compiling and releasing C# applications to multiple environments.
  • Solid experience in a DevOps environment, with expertise in Azure DevOps/Jenkins.
  • Strong understanding of source code management systems and CI/CD principles.
  • Proficiency in releasing into MS Windows environments, including XML transforms.
  • Familiarity with Observability setup, DevSecOps principles, and vulnerability handling.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, PERL) and web servers (e.g., Apache, IIS).
  • Knowledge of RDMS (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and deployment automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
