Internal Job Title: Senior DevOps Manager
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: 18 Auriga Drive, Ottawa ON
Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days/week on-site)

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior DevOps Manager in our Driver and Vehicle group, you will be responsible for driving DevOps practices to ensure efficient delivery of modern cloud systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or similar) or equivalent combination of education and years of relevant work experience
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certifications are assets, but not required
  • Knowledge/proficiency with of DevOps practices, CI/CD concepts/pipelines and tools
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and compliance requirements in a cloud environment
  • 10+ years experience in a DevOps (or related) position
  • 5+ years experience with infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management
  • 2+ years experience in a leadership or managerial position

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Methodologies: DevOps, CI/CD

  • Cloud: Azure, AWS

  • Containerization and Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Tools: Development pipeline (e.g. Jira/Bamboo, Jenkins, CircleCI, Gitlab CI/CD), and automation (e.g. Selenium, JUnit)
  • Containerization: Proficiency in deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud deployments using Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform
  • Quality and Security: Static code analysis (SonarQube), vulnerability management (JFrog Xray) and secrets management (Hashicorp)
  • Monitoring and Observability: Telemetry and visualization (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana) and Application performance (e.g. New Relic, Datadog)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement DevOps strategies and best practices to automate and streamline our software delivery processes;
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipeline tools for deploying applications across various environments (development, testing, staging, production);
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency;
  • Implement and maintain processes and tooling for monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance issues and security vulnerabilities;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible;
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis efforts to ensure timely resolution of production issues and minimize downtime;
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps and cloud computing, and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure and processes; and
  • Various other duties and responsibilities.
