About your opportunity
Fixed Term Temporary part-time 12 hours per fortnight ASAP up to 27.12.2024.
The Dietitian (Senior) delivers high quality, evidence based dietetic services as a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team to consumers with eating disorders, their carers and relevant stakeholders with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and rehabilitation framework.

About the role

  • Deliver contemporary high level clinical dietetics services based on valid and reliable evidence (including development and provision of individual and group based therapeutic nutrition programs for consumers with eating disorders) within the multidisciplinary team, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with a high degree of independence, to ensure patient focused outcomes.
  • Apply high level professional judgement and decision making to resolve a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence utilising high level clinical problem-solving skills.
  • Identify and contribute to the development of evidence based clinical dietetic practice, procedures, protocols and education materials at a local and state-wide level, to improve the delivery of nutrition and dietetic services, and the provision of a multi-disciplinary health service.

Generous remuneration package value up to $24,122 p.m. comprising:

  • Salary range of $62.75 to $67.53 p.h. (HP4)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • High level of clinical knowledge, expertise and skill relevant to dietetic service delivery for eating disorders.
  • Critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills, and expert clinical judgement in relation to the dietetic management of eating disorders.
  • Ability to support and respect multidisciplinary team members, communicating effectively and demonstrating a commitment to the team and wider Mental Health Service Group.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision to staff and students, to ensure maintenance of clinical standards.
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • The successful applicant must hold a degree, or equivalent, in Nutrition and Dietetics and hold the Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) credential.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of APD credential with the Dietitians Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • Experience in mental health and more specifically eating disorder practice is highly desirable.
  • Credentialed status with the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) as an Eating Disorder Clinician is highly desirable. If not Credentialed with ANZEAD - then willingness to undertake and complete the requirements for certification as Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
