Salary Band: 8 ($96,000- $144,000 CAD)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Gerontology, Business or Health Administration, Social Work, Hospital management or related discipline. Equivalent experience also considered.
  • 5-7 years of management experience, including mentoring and leading diverse teams.
  • Expertise in the development, management and evaluation of support programs.
  • Experience in the delivery of accommodation and transportation programs including volunteer management
  • Strong track record of creating and maintaining relationships both internally and externally.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities while moving long term initiatives forward.
  • Ability to lead people leaders and a large portfolio that serves clients that are situated across the country.
  • Experience working well with multiple stakeholders often with competing priorities and differing perspectives.
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement principles.
  • Experience in managing multiple program budgets.
  • Strong people manager that can provide leadership, support and coaching as required.
  • Experience in the delivery of telephone-based support services is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the cancer system.
  • Demonstrates ability to exercise initiative, to be resourceful, work independently and collaboratively, adapt easily to changes in direction, priorities and handles uncertainty in a constructive manner.
  • Articulate and authentic communicator with strong writing and presentation skills, communicates in a persuasive and compelling manner to a variety of audiences and for different purposes.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Development and Partnerships

  • Identifies opportunities for program development, expansion and synergy with internal and external stakeholders and resources.
  • Develops and maintains key relationships with traditional partners across the country from government and NGO sectors to support our mission and support cancer patients and their families within the context of accommodation and transportation services.
  • Works with all provinces to move forward key initiatives related to the promotion and usage of CCS’ programs.
  • Seeks and creates innovative and non-traditional partnerships that further CCS’s role as the credible source of cancer information.
  • Participates on nationwide initiatives that are focused on renewing CCS’ engagement with cancer patients, caregivers, and the public.
  • Works closely with CCS’ revenue development teams to pursue revenue opportunities for CCS’ programs.

Operational Direction of Lodges and Transportation Services

  • Identifies opportunities, risks and develops solutions linked to CCS’s mission and organizational objectives, while ensuring program delivery resources and efforts are maximized to better serve the needs of our stakeholders
  • Integrates all aspects of program delivery that ensures seamless service and effective client interactions
  • Work collaboratively with the Director, Support Programs Integration, Senior Director, Support & Wellness Programs, VP, Cancer Support Programs and and senior leadership to maintain a cohesive ‘access to care’ team, creating a supportive nationwide team culture committed to continuous improvement and collaboration for a sustainable and patient-centred lodge and transportation programs.
  • Contributes to program evaluation to measure CCS’s progre6ss and assesses the impact of the programs at the individual, team, organization and community level. Contributes to the development of key indicators, metrics to benchmark and measure progress, and implementation of objective program performance standards and accountability.
  • Monitors department adherence to financial policies and controls. Ensures an adequate audit trail is in place to meet internal requirements. Determines expense projections as part of the budgeting process.

People Development

  • Provide coaching, oversight and support to direct reports.
  • Drive integration of the FR/ENG teams ensuring streamlined goals, operational standards and program operations that respect the uniqueness of the QC environment.
  • In line with business needs and priorities, provides strategic direction to Directors, Lodges and Managers, Transportation regarding staffing requirements i.e., support recruitment activities, retention initiatives
  • Provide support and direction to Directors, Lodges and Managers, Transportation in the development, alignment and accomplishment of objectives through training, quality and development opportunities for staff within the portfolio
  • Creates a culture of professional accountability.
  • Works in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, and complies with the Society’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • Represents CCS on various external stakeholder groups.
  • Foster a working environment that highlights the talents and strengths of each team member.
  • Ensure that hiring practices are inclusive.
  • Encourage growth and development opportunities for all team members.
  • Champion CCS as a hero in the face of cancer.
