As the Senior Director of Finance, you will provide Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) services to our Global Healthcare Enterprise. Cleveland Clinic is one of the first health care systems to invest in a new software system that uses quantified enterprise risks to provide risk adjusted financials. You will be joining a small close-knit team that respects each other and supports each other in achieving our goals, both for Cleveland Clinic and personal professional growth.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare administration, accounting or business administration.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in business management, strategic initiatives, operational and capital budgeting processes, financial analysis and reporting.
  • Healthcare experience preferred, including a minimum of five years of supervisory and/or project management experience preferred.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Is proficient with excel, financial analysis, budgeting.
  • Has advanced experience with property and casualty insurance procurement, loss control and claims management (8-10+ years).
  • Has clear, concise communication skills, both oral and written, including public speaking.
  • Has the ability to collaborate with multiple subject matter experts to successfully complete complex projects.
  • Has a willingness to design and lead new workflows or insurance programs.
  • Has outstanding leadership skills that result in a high engagement of team members and substantial professional development.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops strategic and complex departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Plans, organizes and directs all strategic activities related to staffing, including: hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Coordinates and directs very complex internal/external audits.
  • Demonstrates strategic and high level knowledge of applicable statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements relative to departmental operations and ensures compliance with the same.
  • Prepares multiple departmental budgets and ensures that the departments operate in compliance with allocated funding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
