Job Description
The Director, Operations (Charleston, South Carolina) provides services and resources to engineering and programs as needed to support the South Carolina Ground Combat Vehicle Assembly and Integration Center of Excellence for new product development, prototype assembly and new product qualifications, as required, with a primary focus on heavy medium and heavy combat vehicle systems. This position will require experience participating on and running a ground combat vehicle manufacturing line. While facility is being developed the operations director will provide onsite leadership as interim site and facility lead until additional staff in onboarded to assume those responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master - Preferred (10+ years of production management experience may substitute)
Bachelor - Required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Functional (Using Skill Set) 10+ years
Management 10+ years
Industry 10+ years
Heavy Manufacturing 10+ years

THIS POSITION REQUIRES GROUND COMBAT OR HEAVY ARMORED VEHICLE EXPERIENCE OR HAVE WORKED WITH ARMAMENT SYSTEMS.

  • Willingness to work from/relocate to Charleston, South Carolina within the next 1-2 years is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs through the product life cycle (pursuit through support and closure).
  • Demonstrated capability of managing cross functional teams with competing priorities (manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, etc.).
  • Capable of creating and maintaining constructive customer relationships.
  • Ability to manage disciplined internal processes by knowledge of industry standard tools and holding others accountable for the following:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, establish and provide resources to ready the South Carolina operations to receive product lines as needed to meet product deliveries and accomplish business plans and objectives.
  • Plan, establish and provide services and resources to engineering and programs as needed to support new product development and introduction, prototypes assembly and new product qualifications.
