Sandvik Tampere factory is currently looking for an experienced Senior EHS Specialist. You will assist site leadership with maintaining site specific policies and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, developing and implementing EHS reporting globally and locally, ensure a safe healthy, and accident-free work environment, and help create a strong EHS culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all local EHS regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis and investigation of incidents, injuries and near misses are accomplished and properly documented.
  • Conduct safety walks to detect existing or potential environmental, fire, safety and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Develop and implement EHS global and local reporting.
  • Lead and manage EHS projects and programs.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Background & Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role preferably in mobile equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills both in Finnish and English.

Furthermore, we expect that you have:

  • Knowledge of Finnish Environmental, Safety & Health laws
  • Strong, presentation, training, facilitation and project management skills
  • Analytical skills to analyze safety & health data
  • Advanced skills using the Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
  • Experience in implementing or maintaining EHS Management Systems, e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001
