DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCES

  • Current Baseline or NV1 Clearance.
  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSWMS) and its application to Engineering Delegations and Risk Levels.
  • Knowledge of Submarines or the Shipbuilding engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technically challenging electrical design and drafting activities which demonstrate knowledge of engineering fundamentals;
  • Undertake detail design activities from assembly to system level, production of electrical drawing outputs such as Cable Block Diagrams, Schematics, Connection details and Cable Installation data.
  • Selection of electrical components suitable for installation and manufacture
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of designers;
  • Review/check designers’ outputs;
  • Consult and liaise with the key project stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver regular updates on work performed, plans and overall status;
  • Provide estimates of hours required to create/update design artefacts to fulfil project requirement; and
  • Analysis of detail design processes to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
