Senior Electrical Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

The Role
Our Multi National Project Supervision Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Electrical Engineer working on similar projects in the UAE performing design review and site coordination. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 month contract position hire as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: The ‘Electrical Engineer’ will be responsible for providing technical support to the Resident Engineer and for reviewing, monitoring, inspecting and supervising all Electrical Works for the construction phase of the Project. They shall have the responsibility for checking that the Contractor’s Works are carried out in accordance with the Contract. They will also be responsible for managing and other members of the Engineer’s staff (assistants and inspectors). Coordination with Contractor / Sub-Contractors for accuracy and sequencing of works. Reviewing Contractor’s proposals for Electrical Installations in coordination with requirements for other disciplines. Providing advice on placement / routing of Electrical services to meet requirements from other disciplines. Coordinating Design issues with H.O. Electrical Engineers and coordinating Electrical Works Inspections with Electrical Inspectors. Periodic Site Inspections of Electrical Systems Coordinate setting out / layouts of Final Fix Electrical elements. with Architect. Monitor Progress of Works with respect to Contractor’s Programme, witness all prescribed tests for testing and commissioning of Systems. Schedule Snagging and de-snagging inspections and prepare snag lists as applicable. Attend weekly Progress Meeting, periodically attend weekly HSE and QA/QC Meetings and identify issues concerning safety and quality standards, attend and report coordination meetings with Main contractor & Sub-contractors. Review Contractor’s Electrical Shop Drawings for compliance with Contract Drawings / requirements, Statutory, Civil Defence and coordination with other disciplines. Review Material Submittals for compliance with Contract Specifications. Review Contractor’s Method Statements for compliance with Contract Specifications. Review of Contractor’s Interim Valuations. Monitor Issue of Site Observation Notes and NCRs as applicable. To check and verify As-Built drawings & O&M Manuals as applicable
Requirements
Senior Electrical Engineer Experience: BSc Minimum in Electrical Engineering 7-10 years of experience Experience of working on build projects previously Strong experience reviewing design and submittals and coordination within the built environment. Proficient in BIM software in addition to usual design softwares In-depth knowledge of local design standards and working experience with local authorities technical and legal requirements Minimum 3-5 years UAE and regional experience at least 2 with a recognised Design or Supervision Consultancy Company working on major horizontal developments Strong communication, stakeholder and client management skills in a client facing role
