Description:
Cranleigh STEM is working with a leading provider of hydrogen fuel cell power systems to generate clean energy in support of the global energy transition.
Our clients’ scalable systems provide off-grid, zero-emission power already being deployed for rapid electric vehicle charging and replacing diesel generators for temporary power applications.
They are working with global partners in the deployment of products for the Maritime, Ports, Data Centres and Rail industries, emphasising the central role of its technology in the decarbonisation of global industry.
Responsibilities:
ROLE DEFINITION:
This position requires a person with experience in electrical design, verification, and documentation to lead the development of integrated power systems within the Electronics team.
The role includes capturing requirements, undertaking system-level trades, defining system-level architectures, producing system diagrams, electrical schematics, and specifications, and supporting the build integration and verification of electrical solutions at both control panels and system level.
The applicant should have excellent practical skills and competence in fault finding and design of electrical hardware to the highest of standards and quality and a good understanding of industrial electronics.
The applicant should thrive in working in an innovative design environment, be able to use their initiative both working independently and as a member of a team of engineers and scientists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading the delivery of electrical developments, and deliveries of electrical power generation, conditioning and distribution for 10-200kW integrated power system products.
- Undertaking trade-offs and defining system-level architectures for electrical solutions.
- Mentoring and guidance of junior engineers.
- Development of single-line diagrams through to detailed electrical designs.
- Generating requirements and design specifications for electrical components and equipment including power converters, circuit protection and harnessing.
- Generating specifications and other documentation for electrical works for both internal and contractors.
- Defining, generating and maintaining documentation for electrical products to support their compliance, and validation under product specifications.
- Producing design documentation for manufacture.
- Supporting and collaborating with other design engineers and scientists to ensure the correct product integration.
- Providing support for design activities including; Safety Reviews, HAZOP reviews, etc.
- Undertaking fault analysis, fault correction and product support with hands-on testing and evaluation using a range of test equipment.
