Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in North Haven, CT.
Job Description: Produce required documentation for fabrication purposes by researching custom specifications, industry standards and evaluating manufacturing and assembly methods and materials. Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests and documenting them per ISO process. Resolve differences between design and fabrication requirements. Work with Test in troubleshooting designs and completing projects. Coordinate and complete projects by mentoring and training designers, associate engineers, product engineers and electrical engineers. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards. Support legacy products for the lifetime of the product. Design custom programming code from scratch where no template may exist. Evaluate assigned projects by designing and conducting research around custom specifications and applying knowledge of electricity and materials. Release projects to manufacturing by assembling bill of materials, generating electrical schematics and point to point interconnects, and developing application specific programs and description of operation. Contribute to the development of templates and design standards. Maintain drawing and program revisions by issuing engineering change notices. Represent engineering functions during factory witness tests. Eligible for 100% remote work, reporting to management in North Haven, CT.
Qualifications:
Requirements: Position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, or Power System Controls or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in electrical engineering, power distribution engineering, power systems controls engineering or related occupation. At least some experience in the following skills: Utilizing Promis.E, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP PowerStation, AcSELerator; Utilizing switchgear, generators, power transformers, protective relaying, equipment and system grounding, and advanced troubleshooting capabilities; Ensuring compliance and working with industry qualify standards (NEC 2020 or newer; IEEE C37.20.1, and IEEE C37.20.2); Reading, analyzing and interpreting engineering design codes and regulations; Reviewing mechanical and electrical recommendations from the customer to finalize electrical drawings; Providing product and solutions application support; and Creating, editing, and understanding operations description per customer requirements.
