We are looking for energy professionals with varying areas of expertise/experience to join our rapidly expanding renewable energy team. You will be based in our HUB offices within easy reach of either Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Bristol, working to a flexible hybrid approach.

TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION

We have a tremendously challenging programme in front of us in the run-up to achieving 2030 net-zero targets. New overhead lines, underground cables, substations, battery storage and subsea links are all needed – and quickly. AECOM Transmission and Distribution is currently supporting the network development which will underpin grid modernisation. Job Description

HERE’S WHAT WE WILL NEED FROM YOU:

We are looking for experienced engineers who have worked within the transmission and distribution industry and have performed any of the following roles previously:

  • engineering design
  • project engineering
  • project construction

Required/Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or HND with additional experience
  • Experience working on MV & HV projects, and substantial experience with an HND
  • Experience working with major utilities or developers
  • Experience as a designer or as a project engineer
  • Experience in developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in Technical report writing

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working on multi-discipline engineering projects
  • Consultancy experience
  • Experience in reviewing review detailed designs & witnessing construction site activities.
  • UK DNO experience and knowledge of DNO and ENA standards, specifications and guidance notes

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOUR NEW ROLE WILL ENTAIL:

  • Primary plant layouts for MV & HV substations.
  • Equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment.
  • Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects.
  • Owners’ Engineer role on MV & HV substation/Cable and OHL projects.
  • Providing HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation.
  • Provide professional services to clients in the UK and overseas.
