Location: Remote / WFH, as well as onsite at Cloncurry, QLD, Australia | 12-Month Hourly Rate Contract
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our client’s team at the Cloncurry site but you have the option of working remote /WFH when not required on site. As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will have the option of fly or drive in/out arrangements.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia
  • Proficient in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, use of 3D model review software and cable sizing software
  • Australian Driver’s Licence
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical scopes within the lifecycle of the project (Feasibility, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction).
  • Sustaining capital projects experience gained in mining and infrastructure setting.
  • Experience in field engineering and working on construction sites.
  • Background knowledge of power system and HV/LV design.
  • Experience in Subcontractor project management.
  • Experience in quality management, completions, and commissioning.
  • Experience in Brownfield and Greenfield project environments.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Electrical and Instrumentation fieldworks complies to the requirements of the project specifications and ensure the project execution are aligned to our clients standards, policies, and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) aspects, coordinate, and successfully execute a diverse range of small and large projects within the major projects program. This includes managing the entire project lifecycle, from design and procurement to construction, commissioning, and infrastructure and asset handover.
  • Evaluate the progression of electrical and instrumentation engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Manage the response to Requests for Information (RFI) from contractors, ensuring effective communication and coordination of inputs.
  • Coordinate the preparation of documentation for project approval and ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive scopes of work for E&I packages during tender processes, actively participating in bid evaluations and addressing clarifications in collaboration with contractors.
  • Administer works contracts in partnership with the Commercial Team, ensuring effective project management and contractual compliance.
  • Proactively identify and address safety hazards and risks, implementing measures to mitigate potential issues.
