SENIOR ENERGY/CONSTRUCTION TRANSITION RISK CONSULTANT
Sydney, NSW / Melbourne, VIC / Brisbane, QLD
Purpose: As an Energy Transition Risk Consultant, you will contribute to the evaluation and mitigation of risks associated with renewable energy projects, providing valuable insights and recommendations to support informed underwriting decisions and support clients in implementing their carbon emission reduction strategy to drive AXA’s contribution to a decarbonized economy.
Mission Description: Your mission will involve collaborating with the Energy Underwriting Team to conduct thorough evaluations of new and existing renewable energy projects, culminating in the development of comprehensive written reports containing risk analysis, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies.
Organization Context: Join our dynamic Risk Consulting team, where you will have a key role in assessing and mitigating risks associated with renewable energy projects for the Energy Underwriting Team.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Relevant degree qualification in an engineering field.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy projects and associated risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player at both local and global level.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Prior experience in the gas industry and/or chemical process engineering would be advantageous.
- Advantageous to have prior experience in risk assessment ideally with a focus on energy transition.
- Adaptability and agility in a dynamic and evolving industry landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Energy Underwriting Team to assess and mitigate risks associated with renewable energy and energy transition technologies.
- Conduct desk-based reviews to evaluate project viability and risk factors.
- There may be the requirement for some site visits depending on the technologies and stage in project development.
- Develop detailed written reports containing risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Provide valuable insights and recommendations to support informed underwriting decisions.
- You will be working in compliance with our technical rules and guidelines.
- You will be sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues who are interested in learning about energy transition.
- You will be working with our local claims team helping them to better understand the losses we pay. Your in-depth industry knowledge is key for this support.
- Occasional interstate Travel may be required for site visits
