Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop the architecture and design to integrate HSM solutions into the custody flow with a focus on security, efficiency, and practical applicability in the digital assets space.
• Implement HSM solutions, focusing on advanced cryptographic functions and secure, scalable infrastructure.
• Develop systems using relevant programming languages, ensuring compliance with the highest security standards and leveraging cryptographic frameworks.
• Collaborate with other engineers to align HSM solutions with the strategic goals of Bullish Exchange, contributing to a robust and secure custody platform.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on HSM and cryptography, sharing knowledge and helping to grow the team’s expertise in these areas.

Experience & Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering with a significant focus on security and cryptography.
• Deep understanding of cryptographic principles and their application in HSM solutions, including familiarity with symmetric and asymmetric encryption and elliptic curve cryptography.
• Proficient in relevant programming languages, such as Core Java or C++, with a strong track record of developing secure, high-performance systems.
• Practical experience with PKCS#11 for interfacing with HSMs.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting and scaling large-scale systems in the domain of digital assets or financial services.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cryptography, or a closely related field.

Bonus Nice-to-Have Experience

• Practical experience with the implementation of hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallets, adhering to standards such as BIP32, BIP39, BIP44.
• Background in secure custody solutions, including the integration and management of TPM and HSM environments.
• Knowledge of enhancing cloud-based infrastructure security through the implementation of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), such as GCP Confidential Compute, AWS Nitro Enclaves, Intel SGX/TDX, ARM SEV, AMD SEV.
• Understanding of FIPS certification standards and levels.
• Proficiency in additional programming languages like Python.
