Job Description:
Microchip’s Data Center Solutions Business Unit (DCS) has a broad portfolio of products widely deployed by the industry’s cutting-edge server/storage OEMs and hyperscale datacenters. Customers deploy DCS solutions into applications ranging from Big Data capacity storage to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning that are helping to shape the next digital age. Our product portfolio includes SAS/PCIe/NVMe/CXL products that connect, manage, and secure the world’s information, including Flash Controllers, High Performance Switches, RAID Controllers and Memory Controllers.
As a Verification Engineer, you will work on developing verification environment for our next generation Data Center Storage products, including enterprise class NVMe SSD controllers and other PCIe-based products. These complex SOC Silicon devices enable top tier data centers in Next Gen storage, Artificial Intelligence, and Automotive Market segments.

Job Description:

  • Defining verification plans and building testbenches for device/subsystem/IP level designs using UVM System Verilog
  • Understanding requirements, protocols specifications, microarchitecture specifications
  • Verification of the design using state-of-the-art verification methodologies like System Verilog UVM coverage driven methodology, assertion-based methodology, formal verification etc.
  • Simulations using Cadence Xcelium and debugging using Verisium.
  • Writing test cases, checkers and coverage that implement the verification test plan.
  • Verification coverage reviews and closure
  • Interact with the cross functional teams (firmware, emulation, validation)
  • Support pre-silicon emulation bring-up and debug.
  • Support Post-silicon validation bring-up and debug, including development of workarounds.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • 4+ years’ experience with related proven silicon verification work experience.
  • RTL verification using coverage-driven verification techniques.
  • Scripting in any language (TCL, Perl, Python, Shell etc.)
  • Proficient in HDL languages System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL.
  • Good programming skills with languages such as C, C++.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital systems and computer architecture.
  • Knowledge of Unix /Linux commands and version control system (i.e., SVN, GIT).
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), and documentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge with protocols such as PCIe, CXL, DDR, SAS, SATA, AXI, APB.
