Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Actively work with AD, EntraID, NPS, DNS and associated components
  • Maintain and improve stability of the environment
  • Implement best practices and automation
  • Troubleshoot incidents and work towards resolving outstanding problems in the environment
  • Work towards preparing the environment to be all-cloud (Azure, EntraID)

DESCRIPTION OF IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Senior level hands-on core engineer with a minimum of 8+ years of experience with relevant MS technologies
  • Natural leader that takes ownership to get things done rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Enjoys working through technical challenges by diving into the systems, seeking out issues within the environment and developing a remediation plan.
  • Experienced working within an environment with organizational change controls, where documentation and planning are highly valued.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity for success in this role.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Active Directory (AD) – expert knowledge of AD, EntraID (Azure AD), and MS DNS; able to configure and manage AD Services.
  • PowerShell – extensive experience with PowerShell scripting
  • MS NPS – ability to configure and maintain NPS
  • Azure Cloud – strong understanding of cloud tools and technologies; ability to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solution
  • Gitlab

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • MS Certified Administrator Expert or equivalent
  • Infoblox
  • Terraform
  • Observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, etc.
  • Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence
  • Retail industry experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
  • 8+ years of engineering experience working with Microsoft Technologies
  • Advanced skills/proficiency and knowledge of Windows Server OS, GPO’s, Active directory (incl. migrations using ADMT or QMM), Azure Active directory, DNS, DHCP and NPS (Network Policy Server)
  • Must have deep and thorough understanding of monitoring standard methodologies within the Directory Services technology space.
  • Experience in Active directory and PKI Design.
  • Experience providing tier 3 support of large, mixed (on-prem and cloud) Active Directory Environments
  • Extensive scripting capabilities with PowerShell and other similar such as C, ASP.net, VBScript, SQL, etc.)
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/Technology space
  • Experience in deploying cloud workloads using IaC eg. Terraform, Azure Devops or Cloud formations.
  • Knowledge of Cloud technologies like Vault, Github, CI/CD principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with bug tracking and task management software such as JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.
  • Experience developing solutions for retail or eCommerce businesses and other relevant domains such as manufacturing and logistics, supply chain, or corporate shared services

Responsibilities:

  • Main contributor for product roadmaps and resiliency strategy
  • Partner with project management to deliver status and performance updates
  • Conduct research to aid in product development and tools selection
  • Provide an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations
  • Actively monitor key metrics, reports on trends, and make improvement recommendations
  • Facilitate an Engineering Community of Practice for your product(s)
  • Contribute to engineering automation, management or development of production level systems
  • Review product roadmaps and guide intake acceptance for a set of production systems
  • Own reliability for a defined set of production systems
