    Our client, founded in 1930 has been a major designer and manufacturer of quality switchgear for the electricity distribution and transmission industry.
    Due to growth, they have a newly created position for a CP Eng Senior Engineer to take responsibility for designing & improving company products on quality to minimise cost and to meet customer specifications and requirements. In conjunction with the Engineering Manager the role is also responsible for mentoring, advising and overseeing the Engineering Practices of non-Certified Practicing Engineers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Certified Practicing Engineer- Professional Engineer Registration Victoria
  • Ideally you will have proven project engineering / management experience gained in the power industry; or working with a metal manufacturing plant.
  • Experience in quality management systems.
  • Experience in quality system audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Design products that meet the customer’s specifications, engineering standards, internal controls and quality requirements at the minimum cost.
  • Review all design information provided by the customer, resolving any incomplete, ambiguous or conflicting requirements.
  • Assist Engineering Manager and subcontract suppliers in design related matters associated with company products & components.
  • React promptly and positively to any design weakness, ensuring that products produced by the company are tested to the relevant standard or test specification using NATA registered laboratories where appropriate.
  • Give technical advice to all operating departments.
  • Apply leadership and management skills. Mentor, advise and oversee the non registered Engineers work and sign off if compliant.
  • Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and the health and safety of other people who may be affected by their conduct in the workplace
