Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. Collins Aerospace has the capabilities, comprehensive portfolio, and expertise to solve customers’ toughest challenges and to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market.
Collins Aerospace makes modern flight possible. Of course, that wouldn’t be possible without the capabilities and technologies of our organization, as well as our engineers – a highly skilled, accomplished network that spans more than 180 sites, 24 countries and 6 Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
Our industry-leading experts are setting the standards for the aerospace industry and paving the way for the future. But as new challenges present themselves, we need fresh, creative and motivated minds to overcome these hurdles, help us break barriers and achieve new levels of innovation. Do you have what it takes to join a global, diverse organization that doesn’t shy away from big opportunities? If so, we invite you to join our ranks and create the next generation of aerospace technologies.
Together, we will nurture an engineering culture that values intellectual curiosity, risk takers and integrity. A place where we will challenge ourselves, our teams, and the status quo and where we will work to find a way – the right way – to achieve what others can only dream of.
Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL TRANSFORM YOUR ENGINEERING SIMULATION SKILLS INTO YOUR SUPERPOWER OF A NICHE AND RARE SKILLSET.
You will be redefining the new way of designing aerospace systems by exploring new and emerging virtual engineering paradigms around virtual testing, virtual certification, and collaborative virtual integration.
This role is unique because of the vast portfolio it touches across different Collins products, moving from industrial challenges to the research frontiers definition, and beyond.
The team is part of the Collins Aerospace Advanced Methods Department, and geographically distributed in the US and EU, and works with Collins product teams worldwide distributed and external research sponsors to extend both the state of the art and the state of the practice of Networked Cyber-Physical Systems Simulation, as one team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You will expand our simulation engineering team by 10% by 2024.
- You will act as an engineering simulation subject matter expert that guides program adherence to our Digital Program Life Cycle (DPLC) initiative by demonstrating you can perform virtual engineering for product design, virtual testing, and virtual certification. Our competitors don’t even do this yet.
- You will ramp up the launch of simulation-based solutions for Collins product in 3 months, and customer-supplier collaborative model-based engineering methods with the DoD by 2024 and instill Collins customer confidence in our virtual engineering methods.
- You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, identify current challenges in our industry, and look beyond the state of the art in the world of simulation and digital engineering.
- You will defining new methodologies and solutions in the world of digital engineering.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
