FINDING BETTER WAYS TO PROVIDE THE MATERIALS THE WORLD NEEDS.

We are looking for two Senior Engineers to join the Asset Integrity team at our modernized aluminum smelter site in Kitimat, BC, where they will work closely with the Maintenance and Operations Organizations to restore, sustain, and improve safe and stable operations through both planned and help chain activities.

Reporting to the Asset Management Superintendent and working a desirable Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:

  • Developing and managing programs such as defect elimination to improve and sustain equipment performance and reliability, while adhering to and promoting Rio Tinto’s health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Analyzing equipment performance data to identify patterns, solve problems, and implement actions.
  • Engaging in planning processes to ensure improvement and risk reduction activities and programs are scheduled and executed.
  • Developing, sustaining, and improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintaining and enhancing equipment specifications and preferred equipment lists, making performance improvements and updating bills of materials.
  • Conducting capital needs analysis and supporting approval process of capital projects, followed by managing relationships with key suppliers and vendors within agreed budgets and targets.
  • Providing technical assistance in the field, conducting root cause analysis, and offering technical support during critical works outside standard working hours.
  • Coaching and mentoring Engineers-in-Training to develop their skills and ensure both yourself and others remain current with industry trends and standards.
