TE TŪRANGA | ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Environmental Monitoring Officer you will provide high level multi-faceted support to the team through the investigation, analysis, evaluation, and decision-making on significant, sensitive, or complex monitoring and compliance issues to ensure reliable and robust environmental outcomes for the City.

Key responsibilities include;

• Providing support to the Team Leader to develop capability and performance within the team through mentoring and coaching.
• Taking the lead on complex cases.
• Ensuring the effective use of regulatory levers to influence better outcomes for the community.
• Participating in and leading initiatives to foster and enhance the awesome culture of our Team.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring;

• Relevant tertiary level qualification.
• Proven experience working in a regulatory environment with comprehensive knowledge of the Resource Management Act.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce detailed and accurate reports.
• High degree of competency in negotiation, facilitation, coordination, and conflict resolution
