Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Equipment Manager to play a pivotal role in our project delivery process. As an Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for managing teams within the Infrastructure Industries, ensuring efficient coordination between Field Operations and the Commercial team. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Strategize forward planning to ensure the timely and cost-effective deployment of Equipment.
  • Monitor utilization and oversee deployment, including suspension and timely off-hiring of under-utilized items.
  • Collaborate with Project Directors, Managers, and Superintendents to assess Equipment requirements.
  • Track and report damage and depreciation of Company/Externally Hired Equipment.
  • Allocate Project Serial Numbers and maintain accurate records of deployment.
  • Establish and maintain a maintenance program for all equipment, including Light Duty Vehicles (LDVs).
  • Coordinate with Mechanics to schedule regular maintenance, track breakdowns and mechanical failures, and record repairs (consider including tracking of warranties).
  • Maintain effective reporting lines to senior management, including equipment forecast information to the Commercial Team.
  • Ensure completion of checklists for all items of heavy equipment by relevant Heavy-Duty Mechanics.
  • Act as a liaison between Trucking Contractors and Field Operations for planning equipment movements.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar leadership position and with experience managing fleets across multiple geographies.
  • Working knowledge/experience with CAT and other heavy equipment manufacturers.
  • Experience in LDV fleet maintenance is an asset
  • Previous experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of initiative.

Working Conditions:

  • Site based position – 5-2 schedule
