Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Senior Estimation Engineer/Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the construction project lifecycle by accurately estimating the costs and resources required for civil engineering projects. Leveraging your extensive experience in the UAE construction sector, you will lead the estimation process, analyze project specifications, and develop comprehensive cost estimates to support project bidding and planning activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience (15 years overall) in estimation within the UAE construction (civil) industry.
  • Proven track record of successful estimation for civil engineering projects, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple estimation projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and laws governing construction practices in the UAE.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the estimation process for civil engineering projects, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information and assess project feasibility.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals.
  • Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs, subcontractor quotes, and other factors to determine project costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, pricing schedules, and bid documents for submission to clients or project owners.
  • Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor bids, negotiate prices, and select vendors to optimize project costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimation data, including historical cost data, supplier pricing, and bid documents.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior estimators and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation processes and procedures.
