  Our client is a leading civil infrastructure and construction contractor that work on a diverse range of projects across Australia. They cover a spectrum of major projects such as Rail, Roads, Bridges, Power, FRP, Steel Structures etc.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Compile and prepare first principles and resource-based cost estimates with fully resourced programs using company-supported estimating programs.
• Read and understand private and government specifications, drawings and designs.
• Use value engineering principles and innovation to optimize bids
• Participate in pre-contract negotiations and tender reviews with senior management
• Reviewing documents, undertaking site investigations and understanding customer needs
• Working with clients, engineers and project managers to develop programs and scopes of work

To be successful in this role, ideally, you will have:

• Relevant experience in estimating projects between $1 million and $20mil in value.
• Ability to estimate from First Principles
• Worked on Major Projects - Structures, FRP, Rail, Civil etc
• Develop and maintain partnerships with partners (i.e., consultants and key sub-contractors).
• Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with new and existing clients to promote brand awareness and profitable business relationships.
• Structures & Civil experience - HIGHLY REGARDED
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• The ability to learn and take on new challenges
