EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Engineering degree or college diploma in a construction related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating with general contractor.
• Proven ability to take a lead role on estimates $50 million and under, or multiple smaller bids.

• Collaboratively complete the full-cycle bid process; either as the lead on large projects or as a manager on smaller bids.
• Will be responsible for overseeing and managing junior estimators.
• Should be familiar with all types of project delivery (LS, CM, DB).
• Utilize and apply research skills at every stage of the process to identify project-specific prices related to key items including labour, equipment, and materials.
• With an eye for detail, accurately interpret technical specifications for bid documents, performing detailed specification and drawing review.
• Actively complete full quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy of contract specifications and pricing, coordinate like items with other estimators in consideration of bulk pricing opportunities.
• Performing bid day assignments; take bids and analyze bid recaps and distribute bid documents to subs and suppliers
• Keep client pricing requirements top-of-mind to ensure feasibility.
• Grow and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision.
• Communicate and monitor resolution of any problems or questions encountered during the bid process; RFIs and with trade partners, such as subcontractors and suppliers.
