Description:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management or Mass Communications;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in events, marketing/ communications, preferably in healthcare setting;
- Creative, meticulous, with good interpersonal skills;
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
- A team player who is also able to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is expected; and
- Proficient use of Adobe Photoshop, Canva and/or other media software to work on creatives is a plus.
Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
To work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to raise the profile and enhance the image of the department both internally and externally. To also work closely with both the Clinical and Ops HODs to plan and carry out strategic staff engagement and welfare events.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Professional Education
- Work closely with the HODs and clinical leads to support and execute any educational / scientific symposiums or webinars (e.g. corporate talks, GP Symposiums)
- Public Education
- Partner with institutions / societies / organisations to plan and execute any educational talks or events and webinars to raise awareness about eye related diseases (e.g. annual AMD Screening Week, Glaucoma Awareness, etc)
- Communications
- Work closely with the NUH / NUHS Comms team for counsel on the use of appropriate communications channels
- Formulate strategies to profile NUH Ophthalmology positively through well-placed media stories and create appropriate content for the various media; (e.g. Social media including; FB, IG, LinkedIn, Traditional Mass media and collaterals)
- Custodian of the NUH Corporate Identity – work closely with NUH comms and ensure that all internal / external materials align to the corporate logos and templates requirements.
- Corporate collaterals – to plan and develop any internal newsletters, refresh brochures, patient education collaterals, corporate videos and social media
- Website
- Custodian of the departments’ intranet and internet website to ensure that contents are updated / refreshed timely.
- Other comms support
- Department’s point of contact to help facilitate any media requests that came through NUH / NUHS Comms, e.g. filming, radio interviews, newspapers interviews / articles contribution, etc.
- Staff Welfare and Engagements
- Plan and develop department’s bi-annual e-newsletter
- Plan and execute meaningful staff welfare activities, for example festive lunches, trainings, retreats, etc.
- Department’s Events / Activities
- Organise and support the department’s events and activities, especially in relation to staff welfare and engagements. For example, annual department retreat, quarterly / monthly staff meetings, trainings, etc.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the department’s operations and admin as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer
