Senior Executive, Laboratory

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is seeking a Senior Executive to manage the Computer Aided Engineering laboratory operations and activities. The candidate would be responsible for providing efficient technical and administrative support for all laboratory teachings and research activities and to oversee the safety standards in the lab in compliance to ISO 45001 standard.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 2-3 years in Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 1 year in administering and configuring computer system (IT knowledge).
• Knowledge of machining/mechanical fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of Application software such as SolidWorks, SolidCAM, Ansys, Autodesk Fusion.
• Knowledge of workplace safety including ISO45001.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge and skill in troubleshooting and resolving computer hardware and software issues.
• Able to support and assist students in teaching classes.
• Good initiative and customer oriented.

• Provide technical and administrative support for all undergraduate and research activities.
• Carry out all planned teaching supports of laboratory experiments, projects, and tutorials.
• Maintain and configure computer/workstation hardware to ensure that they are in good working condition.
• Procure laboratory software, equipment, and consumables in a timely manner and in accordance with school/university purchasing guidelines.
• Laboratory asset management and maintaining proper records for inventory auditing.
• Ensure safety practices in the laboratory.
• Carry out housekeeping of the laboratory.
• Conduct safety risk assessment and safe work procedure (SWP) for all equipment and processes.
• Ensure laboratory equipment are properly maintained, safe to operate and in good working condition.
• To ensure that lab’s resources is sufficient to function as a teaching/ research laboratory.
