Responsibilities:
As a Senior Family Support Worker, you will work directly with families either at the edge of care, at the edge of service, or work around reunification. Your role will involve coaching and mentoring our skilled Family Support Workers, providing essential support to families requiring intensive family intervention.
The Senior Family Support Worker will work alongside the Team Leader and support the Family Support workers in their absence. They will offer peer support sessions, training, attending meetings and record conversations around the families we work with on our LCS recording system.
The Strengthening Family Connections Team is dedicated to working with families to foster strong relationships and support meaningful change. We use evidence-based interventions to address the individual needs of each family, promoting a collaborative and empowering approach to family support.
The work will be covering the hours of 7am - 8pm on a shift basis and will have flexible hybrid working opportunities.
The role of the Senior Family Support Worker will be:
- To work with families and children 0-18 years and 25 SEND to complete assessments, plan and deliver short term direct work focused on the need of the family.
- To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with partner agencies within the statutory and non-statutory services to ensure a cohesive approach to preventing family breakdowns.
- To complete all required information on to our recording systems.
- To attend monthly supervisions and weekly team check in’s as well as monthly team meetings.
- To offer peer support sessions and 1-1 conversations around the families.
- To support the Team Leader in their absence with supporting the Family Support Workers.
- To link with professional partners in steering and project development groups.
- To collate data and implement team knowledge into the required data reports.
