ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiar with offshore installation work, including installation, pre-commissioning and general subsea operations.
  • Offshore execution experience highly preferred.
  • Required to be able to generate procedures, review design reports and drawings, plan and execute mobilization and installation activities.
  • Experience with relevant industry design codes including DNV an advantage.
  • Experience of onshore/offshore logistics an advantage.
  • Familiar with onshore fabrication processes.

Responsibilities:

  • A Senior Field Engineer will develop detailed loadout, transport and installation procedures in accordance with McDermott and Project HSEQ requirements and all project technical specifications.
  • Prepare for, present and participate in Constructability and HAZID reviews and manage the closeout of actions.
  • Promote McDermott and project HSE and Quality policies.
  • Report to Installation Manager and Operations Engineer regarding scope progress, contingencies, scope change, areas of focus and potential areas of concern in accordance with schedule and convergence planning gates.
  • Raise engineering requests, monitor and review design reports from CSE functions.
  • Participate in SIT’s either in or at McDermott fab locations or Company locations as required.
  • Coordinate and prepare required equipment and installation aids.
  • Supervise the mobilization of marine construction vessels, barges, HLV’s as required.
  • Travel offshore during various offshore execution campaigns.
  • Monitor the progress of the work and site conditions and advise the Principal Operations Engineer of any development that may result in changes to the project schedule and / or execution sequence.
  • Work in conjunction with support functions such as Subcontracts, Planning, Accounts and Logistics.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and installation aids associated with the assigned scope:
  • Preparation of material requisitions.
  • Presenting business case for major procurement items.
  • Following up on approvals and technical review of proposed products.
  • Following up to ensure items are delivered on time.
  • Assist and provide oversight and management of Subcontractors, including:
  • Preparation of subcontract scope of work.
  • Technical review of subcontract proposals and preparation of technical bid evaluation.
  • Management of technical and operational aspects of the assigned subcontract including offshore execution.
  • Attend regular internal meetings and external / third party meetings.
  • Review interface documentation (internal and external).
  • Liaise with project team Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Engineering representatives.
  • Assist with as-built documentation and project close out.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Operations Engineer and/or Vessel Superintendent/OCM.
