Description:

We have a great opportunity for an experienced senior finance analyst to join our friendly finance team based in Peterborough. This is a fantastic role for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who will play a key role in enabling the introduction of new financial planning and analysis software, while working with the rest of the finance team to improve the efficiency and control of our processes and data. This is an exciting time to be joining Carter Jonas as we continue to build and grow our business nationally.
There is an ever increasing demand for accurate and timely information as well as developing and maintaining processes and procedures using up to date technology. We are looking for someone to take on a variety of tasks, working closely with the finance director, financial controller and finance manager.

WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

We are seeking someone who is CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified, with up-to-date knowledge of accounting and auditing standards. You will have prior experience in preparing statutory accounts for medium sized companies, ideally including LLP. Experience working with Microsoft Business Central is extremely desirable, although not essential. A formal qualification in process improvement or experience in this area will also be extremely beneficial.
It is crucial to have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, enthusiastic and pro-active with strong numeral and written analytical skills. Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, a team worker with strong problem-solving ability. Fully computer literate with a thorough understanding of MS Office programmes including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ideally you will have gained substantial experience within a similar industry or reputable accountancy firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely production of the firms monthly management accounts
  • Producing high quality analysis that provides an insight into business performance
  • Ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations for various parts of the balance sheet
  • Supporting the delivery of year end statutory accounts and external audit
  • Playing a key part in developing and integrating the new technology to expand our FP&A capability
  • Provide business partnering capability to divisions and profit centre heads as requested
  • Support the development of robust investment cases by the business, and enable the benefits of investments to be easily tracked and reported
  • Performing end to end process reviews of key finance activities, identifying and implementing improvements to efficiency and controls, and working with colleagues to develop process measurements to track performance
